Sweet Connie’s 2015
January 2, 2016

SweetConnie 2015

Hi loves! I am so sorry for not updating here cuz I’ve been traveling around the western coast with my family. (Later, a post about my entire trip will be posted! ) It is already the second day of 2016. Wow! I usually write a summary of my last year and new year resolution either on the last day of the past year or the first day of the new year, but this year I couldn’t do it until today. I felt a little bit upset, but yeah it’s fine. After all, my retrospection is what matters, right?

So looking back at my 2015, it was really full of ups and downs. From long hair to short and from undergraduate to graduate…it’s a year with lots of big turning points in my life and I’ve been through a lot. In 2015, I met lots of different people, traveled to different places and was busy with many different projects. The first thing I was really proud of myself was of course I got into USC! I really love USC, not only because of its high reputation and rank, but also its rich resources and diversity fascinated me. Even though I only spent half a year here, I could see myself improving a lot (my parents must also agree with this point). Seems like half a year at USC has given me much more than four years at SYSU! But I didn’t mean SYSU was bad, I was just saying that I really learned a lot during my time here in the United States. And I quite enjoyed my life here.

Oh right, I should also mention my graduation from SYSU. It was definitely another big event in my life. But to be honest, I didn’t have much feeling cuz by the time they held the graduation ceremony, I was already at USC, starting my whole new life. I didn’t even get the chance to take photos with many people. Maybe that’s life. You gotta sacrifice something in order to gain something.

Like I mentioned above, 2015 was also full of travelings. I’ve been to Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Beijing, Los Angeles, Yosemite, San Francisco, Austin, Chicago, San Diego, Santa Barbara, Napa Valley, Las Vegas, and Grand Canyon. I didn’t expect that many until I came up with the list! I felt so grateful.

But my past year was not all about happiness and joy, for sure. I experienced heartbreak, sadness, and separation from my family and friends. None of these were easy for me. I knew these things would come sooner or later, but when they actually happened, I still felt bad. I guess breaking up with someone is the only thing that no matter how many times you’ve practiced and how hard you tried, you still feel sorry. But in a way, the pain of love is what truly changes us. It’s the losing of love that makes us who we are. Time to move on and let things go.

And thankfully, almost at the end of 2015, I met someone special who I should say is more like a soulmate. He really means a lot to me. After I ended my two and a half year relationship with my ex, I thought I wasn’t gonna find myself a boyfriend until that “someone” bursted into my life. It feels like a shoot of sunshine, Cupid’s arrow, and a gift of surprise.

Well, in the new year, I wish I could enjoy a life with peace, love, and success. I hope to go to more places, read diverse books, and do meaningful stuffs. I will keep doing this blog and hope you guys would enjoy my sharing. Thanks everyone for reading this article, and wish everyone a very happy new year too!

XOXO, from Sweet Connie!
