LAFW Model Casting Day

New York, London, Milan, and Paris may be the crème de la crème of fashion weeks, all eyes have now turned across the pond to LA Fashion Week. Close to Hollywood, LAFW is driving more and more attention. Lots of celebrities including Katy Perry will be on the spot! While the runway is inspirational and the front row is enviable, the real action happens backstage. That’s where you can catch the coolest candid moments, funniest model antics, and clothing and accessory closeups.

I am fortunate enough to be part of the LAFW and got all the first-hand information. I am so excited and everything is fresh to me. Being the intern for NewLeaper, I am in charge of a group of interns who are helping out during the fashion show. Today we all gathered at Unici Casa located in Culver City which is one of the largest indoor space in West Coast. Decorated with customized LED pin spots and uniquely designed stairs, Unici Casa is a truly amazing place for the model casting.

我很幸运能够参与洛杉矶时装周并且获得一手资源。一切对于我来说感觉都特别新鲜。担任NewLeaper的摄影师和编辑的我，同时负责掌管整个实习生团队，他们负责运营整个时装周。今天我们一起在Unici Casa聚集，那是西海岸最大的室内场所之一。

The interns and I have participated in every process and gained the hands-on experience from checking in with the models and designers, to helping with the model casting. We also got the one-on-one chance to talk with different designers and executives. I had many direct communications with our boss Erik Rosete who was the producer of American Next Top Model. When I read that on Google, I almost screamed out!!!

我和其他实习生一起参与到每一个环节，从模特和设计师签到，到帮助模特穿衣服走秀，我们学到了很多经验。我们还得到了与各个设计师们面对面交流的机会。我与我们的老板Erik有许多的直接沟通，后来当我在google上发现他是American Next Top Model的制片人的时候，我差点叫了出来！

So what we did at Unici Casa was basically setting up the place for the designers and models. Some of our interns were helping mark down models’ names and measurements while others were busy taking photos of them. Everyone enjoyed and had great fun together. When all the designers have arrived, the models were grouped as three girls and three guys lining up one by one. They started walking towards the designers and showing the best of themselves. Some of the lucky models got the offer right after they done with the casting. Two of our pretty interns also gave it a try. They did give a perfect and elegant walk that caught everyone’s attention!

我们今天主要帮忙布置场地，有些实习生负责模特的签到和信息录入，另外一些实习生则负责拍照。每个人都乐在其中。当所有的设计师到场之后，模特们以三男三女间隔排列的方式站成一队。他们一个个都展现出了最好的状态，充满自信地走向设计师们。有些幸运的模特在走完之后立马得到设计师的青睐。我们团队有两个实习生也试着走了一段，他们都完美地走出了自己的风格，吸引大家的眼球。

When there were over 200 people in the room, things might become a little bit chaotic, but we all successfully managed the whole event. At the end of the day, I walked out of the room with an indescribable satisfaction!

当然了，200多个人齐聚一堂难免有点混乱，但是我们都成功地把这场活动办了下来。我今天下班之后有一种不可名状的满足感哈哈！
